However, I was able to catch rare footage of the elusive Muffy. Muff is one of the Siblings, kittens born here on the farm via a pregnant mom that someone dropped off (Oh, look honey! A farm! They'll take care of the animal we don't want anymore!) Mr Catty and I spent the summer of 2002 making friends with the Siblings in the hopes of finding them a good home. Yeah, they found the home. Ours.
Muff's original name was Miss Priss; she was IT and knew it. But over time, it occurred to me that her ongoing skittishness may have been due in part to the fact it sounded like we were hissing at her each time we called her name. Mr Catty consulted his "Cat Book of Names" and came up with Muffy (note to self - toss out the Cat Book of Names). Alas, the skittishness has not diminished and she remains hidden for a large part of the day, coming out only to be petted by Mr Catty in the morning (while he's tying his shoes - not before or after), eat (which you can see she does quite well), and use the litter box (though she's never been spotted in it).
